Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, the roguelike action game from Super Evil Mega Corp, has officially made its console debut today. The game is now available on Nintendo Switch.
Originally released for iOS in 2023 through the Apple Arcade, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate follows the crime-fighting Heroes in a Half-Shell through reality-bending portals to rescue their kidnapped master, Splinter. Players can take on the role of any of the crime-fighting Turtle brothers — Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo — each offering their own playstyle and unique powers.
When Splinter is kidnapped by Shredder, mysterious portals simultaneously appear across NYC. With April and Metalhead analysing recovered artifacts for clues, the Turtles battle to recover their father from the clutches of the Foot Clan. However, as the gang gets ever closer to Splinter’s otherworldly location, an even greater threat lingers in the shadows…
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate offers intense, fast-paced, thrilling combat with roguelike elements — such as randomized powerups, enemies, and minibosses — that ensure no two runs are the same. As players complete each run, they are offered a chance to enhance their abilities with power-ups. When clearing each room, players can choose from a variety of Turtle Powers to customize their moveset; however, these powers reset after each run.
Permanent upgrades are possible though, through the Turtles' sewer home. Players can spend in-game currency earned during these runs on permanent upgrades called Artifacts. So even if you fail one of your runs, you're still making progress.
Featuring Super Evil’s unique, fluid combat style mixed with strategic and surprising roguelike gameplay, the result is a fresh Turtles experience with scores of replayability. The game features fast-flowing combat, a diverse build system that will allow players to build the elemental infused Teenage Turtle of their dreams, bodacious co-op capabilities, and improved visual design, graphics and audio quality. Set across four unique New York City environments, the game keeps TMNT fans enthralled from start to finish, as players encounter familiar allies, tons of easter eggs and references across collectibles and narrative, and encounters with iconic bosses including, of course, the mutant duo Bebop and Rocksteady and archenemy Shredder.
The award-winning gameplay is further enhanced through graphical improvements, better lighting and additional props for a richer environment, as well as improved sound and controls On Nintendo Switch, players can even play through the game with four-player local couch co-op.
It was also recently confirmed that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate will also be coming to PC later this year. No release date has been announced.
TMNT: Splintered Fate release on Nintendo Switch today marks Super Evil Megacorp's console debut. The game is billed as a timed console exclusive for the Switch, which at least leaves open the possibility that it could eventually come to PlayStation or Xbox consoles at some point.
