Ubisoft's
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is doing something new by giving players the chance to select between two new characters: Alexios and Kassandra. While this may only come as an "aesthetic" change, we are still not sure if these characters will have each their own story, similar backgrounds, or be the same character.
Taking place in Ancient Greece,
Assassin's Creed Odyssey will take players through a literal odyssey as they traverse Aegean Sea, climb mountains, engage in brutal Greek wars, and sinking enemy ships in some high intensity naval combats.
Besides adding some kind of diversity to the game, most of the core mechanics from the
Assassin's Creed series remain unchanged; such as the melee combat, the exploration, the climbing, and even the naval combats that have become a staple to the series in recent years.
Ubisoft has released two new cinematic trailers for
Assassin's Creed Odyssey, one trailer for Alexios and one for Kassandra. Both trailers are pretty much the same, probably alluding to both characters actually being the very same person from the story's standpoint. Some people have even theorised that, since Kassandra and Alexios share the same background, they may as well be brother and sister—although Ubisoft has yet to confirm this.
