The first rumors about the future of Assassin's Creed had emerged a year ago, long before the official announcement of Assassin's Creed Origins. Rumors had it that Ubisoft's big plan featured three games that would tell the story of the beginnings of the Creed. According to these rumors, the first game would be set in Ancient Egypt, the second one in Greece, with the grand final taking place in Rome.
The next Assassin's Creed game was recently leaked via a promotional keychain. Titled Assassin's Creed Odyssey, all signs are pointing towards this upcoming game taking place in Ancient Greece. Ubisoft has hinted at possible locations for future Assassin's Creed games in a survey sent out to owners of Origins, and one of the suggested that the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta in Classical Greece is the next stop for the beloved franchise.
According to Kotaku's Jason Schreier, Odyssey will embrace its RPG side even more, bringing dialogue options to the series for the first time. Following Syndicate, you’ll be able to play as either a male or a female protagonist. The vast majority of players agree that Origins was a step in the right direction and taking notes from one of the best (if not the best) games of this decade, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt should be applauded. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey will be one of the highlights of Ubisoft's E3 conference that will be held on Monday, June 11 at 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET.
