The Next ASSASSIN'S CREED Game May Fail To Meet Its Planned 2017 Release Window

We've become so used to yearly instalments of Assassin's Creed that this is almost unthinkable, but it appears as if there's a chance that the next instalment won't reach consoles until as late as 2018...

As nice as it's been to have annual instalments of the Assassin's Creed franchise, it's been clear for a while now that Ubisoft needs to take some time and shake the franchise up a little. Neither the gameplay nor graphics have taken a huge leap between games for a while now, so the news that they're taking their time with the next one should definitely be taken as good news rather than bad.

Still, the fact that we may not see another entry until 2018 definitely comes as a blow to fans!

Yves Guillemot explained in an interview with GameSpot that the publisher has, "an opportunity to take [the series] to another level" and to, "take all the time it takes to make the experience fantastic. There’s a huge potential in this game to revolutionise the IP, so we said, ‘Let’s make sure we change our model so we have more time and that we can bring back a greater experience.'"

As for what that means for its planned 2017 release, it sounds like they're definitely in no hurry. "It will be back when it’s ready. That’s when we feel we have something there." Honestly, it's hard to find fault with any of these comments no matter how frustrating delays can be. What do you guys think?
