ASSASSIN'S CREED VALHALLA On PlayStation 5 Runs Better Than Xbox Series X|S Versions, Tech Analysis Reveals

A thorough tech analysis by Digital Foundry has revealed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla actually runs better on PlayStation 5 than it does on Xbox Series X|S.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft's brand-new entry in the critically praised Assassin's Creed series, has already been available for about a week on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, as well as Sony and Microsoft's freshly released new generation of consoles: the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Video game media outlets, however, have had access to both the new generation of consoles and Ubisoft's new Assassin's Creed title for a little bit longer — giving them time to try out both the new consoles and the game, and also review the aforementioned products.

Eurogamer's Digital Foundry, who have made a name of themselves analysing graphics and performance of newly released video games, have not failed to share their timely, and thorough analysis of Ubisoft's recently released Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and they have found quite a few interesting things about the game.

As revealed by the analysis, Assassin's Creed Valhalla actually runs better on PlayStation 5 than it does on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, which is actually quite surprising considering that this is usually not the case; particularly when it comes to the Assassin's Creed series, which often runs better on Xbox consoles.

When it comes to graphics, character models, and overall presentation, Digital Foundry concludes that there aren't really any major differences between the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game, but loading times and frame rate are a different story.

Loading times on the PlayStation 5 version of the game are definitely faster than on Xbox Series X version of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and the frame rate is also more stable than on Microsoft's new consoles; both versions target 60FPS, but the PlayStation 5 has the undisputed upper hand.

The Xbox Series S version of the game actually targets 30FPS, and it is definitely the version that struggles the most to handling the game's graphics; loading times, interestingly enough, are not much different than on Xbox Series X, but it pales when compared to the PlayStation 5's performance in pretty much every aspect.

Now, Assassin's Creed Valhalla look phenomenal on both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and players would be hard-pressed to find any differences if both versions weren't being compared side-by-side. Xbox Series S does struggle, but it is still perfectly playable.
