Though they essentially used to release annually, it's been over a year since the most recent
Assassin's Creed video game was released — not counting
The Rebel Collection for the Nintendo Switch..
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and soon the Google Stadia. But what does the future of the third-person action series look like?
Well, a new article by the
Daily Gaming Report has revealed quite a bit of interesting information about the supposed next instalment in the
Assassin's Creed series. According to the site, the next instalment will be called
"Assassin's Creed Ragnarok," and revolve around vikings. This isn't the first we've heard about the series venturing into the nordic realm.
It's said that
Assassin's Creed Ragnarok will be available for both of the next-generation consoles — those being the PlayStation 5 and Xbox's Project Scarlett. It's assumed that the game will also be available for the PC, however, there's no mention of that in the report — nor the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One for that matter. Perhaps the next
Assassin's Creed title could be a launch title for the next-generation.
According to the report,
Assassin's Creed Ragnarok will explore
"The First Civilization, "the fabled culture of the technologically advanced peoples that predate our ancestry." It's said that seafraing naval combat will make a comeback as well as the RPG mechanics of the most recent instalments. Apparently, you'll even venture into the mystical realm of Asgard to take on Viking gods at one point.
