With Assassin's Creed proving to be a letdown, it's hard to get excited about video game movies right now. So, how about a TV show? Well, in news it's fair to say most of us probably didn't see coming, it appears as if Castlevania is coming to the small screen from Adventure Time executive producer Fred Seibert. No official announcement has been made, but it was during a recent appearance on the Nick Animation podcast that Seibert dropped some hints about an unnamed adaptation he's working on.
"We have a project right now that we’re doing that needs to go unnamed, based on one of the most world-famous video games of the last 30 years, that we’ve had in our shop for 12 years without being able to get it started," he revealed. "But there were great characters and a great story, and eventually we got it going." We've known for a while that Seibert holds the rights to Castlevania, so chances are that that's the one he's talking about and this isn't actually the first we've heard of it.
Last year, producer Adi Shankar stated that he's working with Seibert on a "dark, satirical" adaptation of the property, and after years of failed attempts to bring it to the big screen, it makes at least some sense that it's now heading to television. What do you guys think about a Castlevania TV show?
