No Man's Sky is a game that has been controversial pretty much since it was announced back in 2013—which eventually released in August of 2016 for the PlayStation 4. It was a game that promised a vast procedurally generated universe for players to explore, which immediately raised some eyebrows—but not in rather positive way. Hello Games, the developer for
No Man's Sky, even promised players an online experience that was gradually talked about less and less in later interviews.
Then, launch day came and
No Man's Sky was panned by critics and players alike due to the lack of features, boring gameplay, and almost none of the features Hello Games promised when they announced the game. Eventually, they began working on extra content that actually did make the
No Man's Sky experience better, but it still wasn't quite what everyone expected—much less what the developer themself had promised.
No Man's Sky Next was announced for the Xbox One in March of this year and it was described as a major update that would finally include online multiplayer.
Next is also coming as a free update for anyone who already owned
No Man's Sky. Alongside the new online multiplayer feature, a myriad of new updates were added, including avatar customisation, build bases, fight other players, and so on.
Today, Hello Games has released a trailer for
No Man's Sky Next and it looks like they are finally devliering on what they promised when the game was officially announced.
Take a look:
Embark on an epic voyage to the center of a boundless universe. Entire galaxies lay waiting to be discovered. Be the first to land on beautiful, unknown planets teeming with life. Survive hazardous environments, where alien civilizations seek their fortune and outlaws take it by force.
No Man's Sky Next will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and PC on the 24th of July.
