The long-awaited next update in Path of Exile 2 is almost here, and fans around the world are gearing up for the launch of Dawn of the Hunt. But worry not readers, we have got you covered with all the important information that Grinding Gear Games has now shared about launch day and what you need to do to be prepared! Including patching times, download sizes, and some enticing Twitch Drops for those who are not able to play right away and want to watch their favorite streamers tackle new content and create new builds for us to enjoy.
Launch day is set for April 4, 2025. Servers for PC will go down for patching at 11:00 AM MDT, with both PC and console players able to jump into the new league starting at 1:00 PM MDT. Console players can already start pre-downloading the update, which clocks in at around 27GB, while PC players should prepare for a 31GB patch through the standalone or Steam clients.
For PC players looking to minimize downtime, Grinding Gear has also provided a torrent option that includes the GGPK file—though this method is only compatible with the standalone client and not Steam or Epic. After downloading the file, players will need to wait until three hours before launch to complete the final patching process.
In addition to the launch itself, Path of Exile 2 players can earn free cosmetics through Twitch Drops, simply by watching streams of the game. Check out the trailer for what drops will be available with the video down below:
The drops are split into two weekly waves:
-
Week 1 (April 4–13): Watch for 3 hours to unlock the Azmeri Noble Deer Pet.
-
Week 2 (April 13–19): Another 3 hours of watch time grants both the Hunter’s Trophy Back Attachment and the Honour Guard Summon Rhoa Effect.
These rewards will eventually be available in the in-game store, but for players eager to grab them early—and for free—watching Twitch is the way to go.
Finally, this launch also marks the last chance to grab the Settlers Mystery Box before it’s rotated out of the shop. If you need extra points, supporter packs like Settlers of Kalguur or Early Access bundles are still available.
