The long-awaited and highly anticipated remake of
Resident Evil 3 releases for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in a month's time — on April 3rd, to be specific. However, that isn't the only
Resident Evil game that's in the works at Capcom — according to this reputable insider.
Industry insider AestheticGamer recently took to Twitter (
@AestheticGamer1) to tease that Capcom is planning to release four major titles during the upcoming fiscal year — that being April 2020 to April 2021. According to AestheticGamer, two of the four major games are of the
Resident Evil franchise.
Of course, we know all about one of them — it's
Resident Evil 3 Remake — but the other is infinitely more mysterious. Naturally, you would assume that the other new
Resident Evil game would be a sequel to 2017's
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard — presumably titled
Resident Evil 8. However, AestheticGamer similarly posted about upcoming
Resident Evil games in January.
Back then, the insider curiously stated that there's a new
Resident Evil game in the works that isn't another remake nor
Resident Evil 8. Since AestheticGamer makes no mention of that in this recent tweet, perhaps he has learned that the other Resident Evil game is in fact a sequel to
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
As for the other two major titles that Capcom will reportedly be releasing during the upcoming fiscal year; AestheticGamer claimed that Capcom are intending to revive another of their classic franchises in the same way that they did with the recent
Resident Evil remakes —
Dino Crisis would be our best guess.
Resident Evil 3 remake will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC from April 3rd, 2020.
