The survival horror genre has been around for decades and has always managed to give players an insane feeling of both isolation and terror when done correctly. One of the franchises that revolutionized the genre was Capcom's Resident Evil. Since its debut, the franchise has released multiple games and even a movie franchise starring Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element).
Over the past few years, both the games and films have decided to change their image yet again, with the games getting back to their survival horror roots by releasing the 7th installment and remakes of the original second and third games. The films have also changed their look by announcing a reboot that will primarily focus on the classic characters of the series such as Leon S. Kennedy (Avan Jogia), Chris and Claire Redfield (Robbie Amell and Kaya Scodelario), and Jill Valentine (Hannah John-Kamen), in a more game accurate adaption, which was something the earlier films weren't known for following.
As production on the new film has continued, multiple Twitter users have been posting some leaked set photos of Raccoon City and the iconic R.P.D in complete disarray! After so many films that felt more like Resident Evil adjacent, it is hard not to get excited at this new interpretation.
Could this mean that the new film will be adapting either the second or third game? Well, take a look and tell us what you think in the comments below!
The player controls Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who must escape Raccoon City after its citizens are transformed into zombies by a biological weapon two months after the events of the original Resident Evil.
Resident Evil is coming soon!
