Capcom has kicked off the month of September by announcing that they will be attending — virtually, that is — this year's Tokyo Game Show, and revealing some of the games that they will be showcasing via a live web broadcast. As revealed by the developer, Resident Evil Village is one of the games that they will be showcasing.
According to the official information posted on Capcom's website, Street Fighter V Champion Edition will be livestreamed on Saturday the 26th of September, while the Resident Evil Village segment will be broadcast on Sunday the 27th of September; both via the CapcomUSA Twitch channel.
Resident Evil Village was initially revealed during the special PlayStation 5 presentation that took place in June. While information about the game has been shared by Capcom, not much has been actually shown; other than the announcement trailer, we haven't really seen anything.
Capcom did confirm that this is the rumoured Resident Evil 8, only with a slightly different name, and that this is a direct sequel to everything that happened during the events of Resident Evil VII, so there are a lot of things for fans of the Resident Evil series to be excited about.
We also know that Resident Evil Village is expected to launch at some point in 2021, so we hope that Capcom will also be either revealing a tentative release window, or simply reveal the exact date in which the game will be releasing; whatever the case, we should at least expect a new trailer.
On both the 26th and 27th of September, the Tokyo Game Show event will stream from 12:00 PM UTC until 3: 00 PM UTC / 5:00 AM PDT until 8:00 AM PDT, so be sure to keep an eye out for Capcom's presentation, since there is always the possibility that they end up showing off other titles not on the official lineup.
Years after the tragic events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Ethan Winters has started over with his wife Mia, finally living in peace and putting the past behind them. However, Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from previous Resident Evil games, suddenly disrupts their life, throwing a devastated Ethan into a new and twisted nightmare in search of answers.
Resident Evil Village is expected to release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021.
