Earlier today, Capcom surprised fans of the Resident Evil series by revealing that an all-new entry in their long-running survival/horror series us currently in the works, and that it will be launching at some point in 2021 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and PC(Steam).
Little is known about Resident Evil Village, which is the eight game in the mainline Resident Evil series, but there was enough in the announcement trailer to get players excited for this new story; one that seems to have made an antagonist out of series main protagonist Chris Redfield.
For those who may still want to know more about Capcom's recently announced title, producers Tsuyoshi Kanda and Peter Fabiano reveal a bunch of details about Resident Evil Village in a special developer message for the fans.
According to the game's producers, Resident Evil Village is still using the Resident Evil Engine used in other titles like Resident Evil VII, Devil May Cry V, and the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, although they have learnt a few new tricks that allowed them to optimise the engine for next-gen titles.
What's more, the producers also reveal that this new game will be a little bit more action-oriented than Resident Evil VII, although it will still feature the same — and somewhat divisive, as many will agree — first-person point of view.
Resident Evil Village will also feature realistic graphics like never seen before in the series, and the developers even go as far as revealing that there will be absolutely no load times in the game; all of this in order to provide the best experience possible for players.
What's even more interesting is that the producers for Resident Evil Village also reveal some interesting aspects about characters Ethan Winters and Chris Redfield, while also showing off some gameplay, so be sure to check it out down below, and leave us a comment letting us know what you think about it.
Give it a watch:
Years after the tragic events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Ethan Winters has started over with his wife Mia, finally living in peace and putting the past behind them. However, Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from previous Resident Evil games, suddenly disrupts their life, throwing a devastated Ethan into a new and twisted nightmare in search of answers.
Resident Evil Village is expected to release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC(Steam) in 2021.
