Resident Evil 2: Remake was officially announced two weeks ago at Sony's E3 2018 media briefing after three years of development at Capcom. The original
Resident Evil 2 was released for the PlayStation in 1998, exactly 20 years ago. The horror gave players a chance to control Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield and escape from Raccoon City after its citizens were transformed into angry zombies.
PlayStation Access had a chance to check out a big chunk of the remake during E3 2018 and created a comparison vide between the old 1998 version of
Resident Evil 2 and the latest build of the upcoming remade
Resident Evil 2. As you can guess, a lot has changed since 1998, including the illuminating and texturing technology. Don't worry, the remake has a
RE4-style camera but it's still the
RE2 you loved.
The original
Resident Evil 2 featured two campaigns that each provided different points of view to the horror story. The game was directed by Hideki Kamiya and produced by Shinji Mikami, director of the first
Resident Evil and
The Evil Within series, and developed by a team of 40–50 over 21 months. It looks like Capcom puts more effort into remaking the original that actually making
