While Resident Evil - The Final Chapter looks set to be the last instalment in the divisive film franchise, but Sony has found one way to extend it with a new interactive experience called, "Road to Raccoon City." Launching in Hong Kong at the CineAsia exhibitors and distributors convention this week, Variety has the scoop on what it will involve, and the whole thing sounds like a pretty fun experience overall!
"Haptic technology generates tactile sensations in a user’s body through vibrations. In 'Road to Raccoon City' users wear a specially equipped vest and shoot at zombies on a projected screen. As the zombies attack, the vest generates physical and audio responses to simulate the attack."
Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich will provide a voiceover, while Sony Pictures Entertainment teamed with video production company Sony PCL to come up with the experience for the video game movie.
"This is a wonderful example of when several of Sony’s divisions join forces to create one multi-faceted and dynamic project," said Sony executive VP of marketing, Sal Ladestro in a statement today announcing the launch of the experience. "We’re excited to support ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’ with this fun, immersive activation." Don't worry though as it's thought this will come to the US !
Resident Evil - The Final Chapter is set to be released next January. Will you guys be watching it?
