Resident Evil 2's remake was officially revealed two days ago during Sony's E3 2018 media briefing after three years of development at Capcom. The original Resident Evil 2 was released for the PlayStation in 1998. The horror gave players a chance to control Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who must escape Raccoon City after its citizens were transformed into zombies by a deadly biological weapon.

Resident Evil 2 received praise for its terrifying atmosphere, setting, groundbreaking graphics and audio, and it has appeared on many lists of the best games ever made. To celebrate the announcement of the remake, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, who joined Capcom during the works on Resident Evil remake in 2002, posted a short video on Facebook which showcases the remake long journey to the E3.

The Japanese company also released the official key art for the remake featuring the main heroes, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield in glorious HD. The second art spotlights a hungry zombie, a picture you'll see in the actual game a lot. With no doubt, Resident Evil 2's remake is one of the most anticipated games on the horizon right now, and we're expecting to hear more about it over the coming months.
