RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE Could Release As Soon As April Of Next Year, Capcom Leak May Have Revealed

Resident Evil Village, the eight entry in the survival horror series, could release as soon as April of next year, according to information that may have been recently stolen from Capcom.

Resident Evil Village was unveiled during Sony's special PlayStation 5 presentation that was livestreamed in June of this year, and it was revealed to release at some point in 2021 for next-gen consoles and PC. Ever since, Capcom hs shared more information, but the release date is still a mystery.

Just recently, Capcom was the victim of a ransomware attack, and today the Japanese company confirmed that over 350,000 items of personal data and intellectual property had been stolen from the company's servers in Japan, the United States, and Canada.

While Capcom reassured that they were taking legal actions against the hacker group, some of the information has seemingly begun to make its way online. Fortunately, this information isn't about Capcom employees, but rather about intellectual properties; the Resident Evil series, to be more specific.

According to the leaked information, as collected by Resetera users, Capcom has already got a date in mind for the release of Resident Evil Village, and while we don't hve a specific date, the leak suggests that the upcoming survival horror title could be launching as soon as April of next year; narrowing down Capcom's tentative release window.

The leaked information also suggests that current-gen versions of Resident Evil Village may be confirmed, and that the game will be getting a playable demo some time before the game officially becomes available.

This would also agree with Resident Evil Village Producer Tsuyoshi Kanda's sayings from a while back, in which he revealed that current-gen versions of the upcoming Resident Evil title are definitely being considered, although at the time they couldn't make any promises.

It is still worth mentioning that the Capcom leak is very real, but the information going around the internet may not necessarily be accurate. As far as we are concerned, this is still a rumour until Capcom officially makes the respective announcements.

Years after the tragic events of Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Ethan Winters has started over with his wife Mia, finally living in peace and putting the past behind them. However, Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from previous Resident Evil games, suddenly disrupts their life, throwing a devastated Ethan into a new and twisted nightmare in search of answers.

Resident Evil Village is expected to release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2021.
