Insomniac Games really outdid themselves with their critically acclaimed
Marvel's Spider-Man. Upon releasing, the game was met with universal praise; getting several Game of the Year nominations from various media outlets.
Ahead of this year's Sand Diego Comic-Con, NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella has revealed a list of the best-selling superhero video games in the United States, and
Marvel's Spider-Man proudly leads the Top 10 list in first place, closely followed by Warner Bros. Interactive and Rocksteady Studios' critically acclaimed
Batman: Arkham City.
Unsurprisingly, both
Spider-Man video game adaptations of the Sam Raimi live-action
Spider-Man films have also been able to make the Top 10; considering that both films were, and still are, highly regarded by fans of the wall crawler.
It is also worth mentioning that, unlike
Batman: Arkham City,
Marvel's Spider-Man is a PlayStation 4 exclusive, meaning that the game alone has managed to outsell sell all other versions of Rocksteady's acclaimed
Batman title — which, in and of itself, is quite the feat for Insomniac Games.
Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Marvel have teamed up to create an authentic Spider-Man adventure. This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met or ever seen before. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in Marvel's New York. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rest upon his shoulders.
Marvel's Spider-Man is available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
