Insomniac Games' take on the web-headed superhero has managed to become one of the best video games in the superhero genre, right next to Rocksteady's fantastic
Batman: Arkham series.
Marvel's Spider-Man gives us, without a doubt, the best Spider-man title ever made; with a fresh new story that focuses on a grown up Spider-man that has been protecting the city of New York for 8 years. The game does a great job at making both Spider-Man and Peter Parker the protagonists of the story, by perfectly balancing both personas and delivering a brilliant narrative.
Today, we get some new information regarding Insomniac Games' fantastic
Marvel's Spider-Man, as The NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella reveals that the game is now the fastest-selling superhero game in US history; meaning that it's managed to beat other big superhero titles like the ones from Rocksteady's great
Batman: Arkham series.
While Piscatella hasn't really revealed any sales numbers, these include copies sold since the game's launch on the 7th of September until the end of November. We also don't know if this new information includes both digital and physical sales but it is probaly the case.
Another interesting fact is that
Marvel's Spider-Man is a PlayStation 4 exclusive, meaning that it has outsold the number of copies for every version in the
Batman: Arkham series; keeping in mind that these games have came out for multiple platforms. Our hats are off to you, Insomniac Games.
