Spider-Man 2 is currently expected to swing into stores sometime this Fall, and while we wait with bated breath for a trailer to be released, the first merchandise for the video game sequel has now been revealed by Hasbro!
Based on the web-slinger's divisive red, blue, and white "Advanced" costume, the Marvel Legends action figure is being released exclusively through Hasbro Pulse, with the articulated toes generating quite a bit of excitement among collectors (those were previously seen on the "Renew Your Vows" Spider-Man).
While the figure comes with a handful of accessories, there has been some controversy surrounding the decision to price it at a whopping $34.99. That's a big number for a Marvel Legends figure that only comes with two alternate hands.
"The original Web-Slinger, Peter Parker guides Miles Morales as he navigates taking up the Spider-Man mantle and learns to harness his powers," reads the official description. "This Spider-Man action figure is inspired by the character's appearance in the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 video game, and makes a great addition to any Marvel action figure collection."
"This collectible Marvel action figure comes with 7 gaming-inspired accessories, including web FX!" it continues. "Marvel fans and collectors can display this fully articulated 6-inch action figure featuring poseable head, arms, and legs, as well as character-authentic deco, in their collection."
This Spider-Man figure arrives in August. Spider-Man 2 doesn't currently have a confirmed release date, though we're hoping it will be with us by September or October at the very latest (there's always a chance it could be hit with further delays depending on how well work is progressing).
