With the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 fast approaching, excitement for the sequel is through the roof. The wall-crawler remains one of Marvel's most popular superheroes and, based on Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, we can safely say we're in for another amazing experience.
Insomniac has just released two new posters for the long-awaited sequel putting the spotlight on Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Both heroes are suited up and can be seen swinging into action as they set out to protect New York City from those who would do their home harm.
It's been reported that, in the game, we'll be able to swap freely between both Spider-Men outside of missions, similar to Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V. We're assuming that will play to certain missions as well, something which was evident from the first gameplay footage released earlier this year.
Check out both new Spider-Man 2 posters below.
Those are two great posters and we can only hope the sequel's lead villains, Venom and Kraven the Hunter, will be next to receive the spotlight.
Talking of Venom, a recent social media post from Sony promoting Spider-Man 2's upcoming Collector's Edition has taken on a life of its own after fans zeroed in on a somewhat strange choice of wording.
As you can see below, the company has suggested gamers "treat [themselves] to 19-inches of Venom" this fall, leaving many unable to look past what appears to be a rather cheeky innuendo. It might be an honest mistake - in case it wasn't obvious, the "19-inches" refers to that impressive statue - misinterpreted by a lot of dirty minds but the memes have followed thick and fast.
Of course, when you stop and think about it, it's turned out to be a pretty clever way to get as many eyes on Spider-Man 2's pricey Collector's Edition as possible.
"Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales," reads the synopsis, "return for an exciting new adventure in the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise."
"Swing, jump and utilise the new Web Wings to travel across Marvel’s New York, quickly switching between Peter Parker and Miles Morales to experience different stories and epic new powers, as the iconic villain Venom threatens to destroy their lives, their city and the ones they love."
Spider-Man 2 swings into stores on October 20.
