There's a huge amount of excitement for Spider-Man 2, especially after it was recently showcased by PlayStation. It's clear Insomniac Games has pulled out all the stops to deliver the wall-crawler's most amazing video game adventure to date, and a new look at the sequel is now on the horizon.
While many major movie studios are giving this month's San Diego Comic-Con a miss amid the ongoing WGA strike, Spider-Man 2 will be there on Thursday, July 20.
In a panel taking place in Hall H from 2.30pm - 3.30pm, Variety confirms it will be called "Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Symbiotic Relationships," suggesting Venom will be front and centre as the curtain is finally pulled back on the villain's role in the game.
The description for the panel reads, "Insomniac Games’ creative director Bryan Intihar, game director Ryan Smith, narrative director Jon Paquette, and senior art director Jacinda Chew are joined by actors Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker), Nadji Jeter (Miles Morales), Laura Bailey (Mary Jane Watson), and Tony Todd (Venom), along with VO and creative director Bill Rosemann from Marvel Games, to discuss the upcoming PlayStation 5 game."
"Get a behind-the-scenes look at Insomniac Games’ take on the monstrous Venom and how the symbiote plays a role in the sequel to the hit PlayStation games Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales."
While we're sure much of Venom's role is being saved for the game itself, common sense says he might finally be shown in action in Hall H. Hopefully, that means we're also going to get confirmation of who is wearing the suit (Harry Osborn remains the most likely candidate).
There's bound to be footage which is shown exclusively to those in attendance, but we're sure a trailer will be released online as well.
Spider-Man 2 swings into stores on October 20.
