Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr, the first title in the
Warhammer 40,000 series developed by
Neocore Games, is also the first Action-RPG in the series since its first released video game back in 1992. Players comfortable with games from the
Diablo series or fans of Neocore Games' other popular ARPG title,
Van Helsing.
Other than the extensive leveling and and skill talent trees that harken back to classic ARPGs, it also features a "cover" system, which tends to be more prominent in the Shooter genre in games such as the
Uncharted series, or
Rainbow Six, for example. It offers both melee and ranged based gameplay, and it does introduce a space/sci-fi environment and story, which is much different than the fantasy/horror themes that are prevalent in the series.
The game has been out for a few months on Windows PC, but yesterday,
August 23rd, was the official release day for both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Here's an official trailer marking its console release:
Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr is out now on Windows PC (
$49.99 USD), Playstation 4, and Xbox One (
$59.99 USD for each console edition).
