Ubisoft has already announced that no new
Assassin's Creed video game would be launching in 2019, suggesting that the long-rumored
Watch_Dogs 3 could potentially take its place as the French publisher’s major October/November release this year. While nothing has been confirmed just yet, the latest rumor has it that
WD3 will be set in London, which was first teased in
WD2's updated ending.
According to
an anonymous 4Chan user,
WD3 will also be focused on "
smaller firearms and knives for combat with a larger emphasis on hacking," while the player will have a chance to choose between a male and female protagonist, similar to what Ubisoft offered us in
Far Cry 5. In that particular Ubisoft game, the gender of the main hero didn’t affect the main storyline, so expect similar results in
WD3.
Although it's impossible to say if that anonymous leaker's information is any true, Kotaku's Jason Schreier has revealed on Twitter that
WD3 is indeed headed to London, the main location of 2015's
AC Syndicate. As a reminder, the first
WD was set in Chicago, while 2016's sequel took us to San Francisco.
Considering that Ubisoft’s gaming assistant AI Sam revealed in December that ""
They" will come. Or "He". There's a debate about that. But who cares," the recent leak makes a lot of sense. Taking into account that the London-set
Watch_Dogs 3 will apparently feature two characters to choose from, chances are that neither Aiden Pearce nor Marcus Holloway will return in the upcoming threequel.
