MARVEL'S AVENGERS: Head Of Crystal Dynamics Is Confident That PC Players Will Return To The Game

Crystal Dynamics Head of Studio recently addressed the massive dip in players in MARVEL's Avengers, revealing that he is confident the PC playerbase will return to the game; promises news for next week.

Yesterday, video game media outlets were reporting that MARVEL's Avengers was experiencing some matchmaking issues, and that the reason was that PC players had suddenly stopped playing the game. This information came from Steam Charts, where it was revealed that over 1,500 players were no longer interested.

It was suggested that the lack of commitment from the developers, as they haven't fixed glaring issues nor shared news regarding the promised additional content, was the straw that broke the camels back, and made players lose interest in the game.

As mentioned above, the dip in players was also affecting users that were, indeed, still playing the game — with active players reporting that they would have to wait for over 30 minutes to find a match, and sometimes they simply wouldn't find one.

Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics Scott Amos has addressed this issue, revealing that they trust PC playerbase that has left will return to MARVEL's Avengers once the promised new content is finally added; information he recently revealed to Kotaku.

"We are listening. We are making fixes, improvements, and additions as fast as we safely can to make Marvel’s Avengers the game we all aspire it to be. As such, we have a number of new content pieces coming in the weeks ahead including: a totally new War Zone mission type called Tachyon Rifts, a new Outpost that’s a jumping off point for new story missions in the future, and AIM’s Cloning Lab, which requires a coordinated high-level group of four players to beat with new top-end loot rewards for finishing it." reads part of the lengthy statement Scott Amos shared.

He then adds: "And in each of these updates we do tuning and bug fixing to enhance the overall experience."

The good news is that they are owning up to player complaints, and were quick to address these issues; promising that they will keep doing their best to givep layers the game they deserve. What's more, Amos also reveals that news are coming next week, although a specific date has yet to be revealed.

"We are confident that we’ll see PC players (as well as those on Xbox One and PlayStation 4) return to the game as we add exciting new late-game content and demonstrate that we continue to be focused on improving the game.

"We'll have more information and details about the very near content drops in a blog scheduled for next week and we have new community communication initiatives coming soon to even more directly share fun and useful information with you."

Again, it is great to see the developers at Crystal Dynamics addressing these issues. It shouldn't have taken this long, granted, but it is reassuring to know that they are listening to fans. With that said, all of these issues should've been fixed before the MARVEL's Avengers was even released. To read Scott Amos' full statement, be sure to visit Kotaku by clicking right here.

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

MARVEL's Avengers is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia; PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X release date to be determined.
