MARVEL'S AVENGERS Experiencing Matchmaking Issues On Account Of Massive Dip In PC Players

As revealed by the official Steam Charts, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' MARVEL's Avengers is currently experiencing matchmaking issues due to a dip below 1,000 players on PC.

So, it has finally come to this, and nobody really seems surprised about it, but apparently players are losing all interest they had in Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' not-so-mighty MARVEL's Avengers — which is definitely disappointing, but it's been quite apparent for a while now.

Most players were initially disappointed when the first official gameplay trailer for the game was revealed during the E3 back in 2018, and both Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have done everything within their reach in order to keep players excited. Everything was looking up until they revealed that Spider-Man was being added to the game...as a PlayStation exclusive.

Come launch day, and players immediately notice that there are some glaring issues with the game itself, as it is full of glitches, is repetitive, and the loot system isn't really worth the time spent on grinding; all issues that were present in the game's demo, but that players thought would not be present in the final game.

Things have gotten even worse now, as Forbes reports that over one thousand PC players have simply decided to stop playing the game all of a sudden, which is causing issues with matchmaking. To be more precise, the number of PC players that stopped playing within the last 30 days is a total of 972(as of this writing it stands at 1,503); information that was revealed by the official Steam Charts.

According to Forbes' report, some PC players have even coplained that they have had to wait for up to half an hour to find a match in MARVEL's Avengers, and that is if they even get to find one at all — which is aggravating for those who want to take on War Table missions, and there is no one to join their team.

What has largely caused this is the fact that neither Square Enix nor Crystal Dynamics have shared any news in regards to the game. In fact, they even promised that Hawkeye and the additional content that would be added to the game with the character were supposed to release only weeks after MARVEL's Avengers released, and it's been over a month now.

I personally noticed that there must've been some issues when they stopped releasing the Superior Seminars series, which introduced Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, and Ms. Marvel to players; all of this leading up to the release of the game.

The Superior Seminars mini series was abruptly ended, and we never got videos for the rest of the Avengers, which was rather odd. Ever since, the official YouTube channel for the game has been rather dead, with the latest video being a "rapidfire questions" with the actress that plays Ms. Marvel; no updates on the upcoming content just yet.

MARVEL's Avengers is in a rather odd place right now, and this is all on Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics, who should've definitely delayed the game a little bit more and would've saved themselves all of this fiasco.

Hopefully the developers will own up to their mistakes, and begin addressing the issues that fans have been complaining about non-stop since the game released early in September.

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

MARVEL's Avengers is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia; PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X release date to be determined.
