Rockstar Confirms Grand Theft Auto 6 Is Still Arriving On Time For PS5 And Xbox

Rockstar Games is still pointing at Thursday, November 19, 2026. That is the Grand Theft Auto 6 date on the official site, the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store, and Take-Two’s books. Rob Nelson told Famitsu it will definitely be released. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has already reiterated November 19 on earnings calls while the company keeps an $8 billion to $8.2 billion fiscal 2027 net bookings range that assumes this ship date holds.

The game will be playable on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S at launch. No Switch 2 was mentioned. Standard edition is $79.99. Ultimate Edition is $99.99 with extra vehicles, weapons, apparel, and story-threaded extras for Jason and Lucia. Pre-orders opened June 25. Digital pre-load starts November 12. The boxed copy is a download code in a case, also available November 12 so the file can sit on the drive before the 19th. Buy before November 20 and Rockstar throws in the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital pre-orders also get a month of GTA+.

This date is delay number two in the games development. Trailer 1 in December 2023 sold a 2025 window. May 2025 moved it to May 26, 2026. November 2025 moved it again to November 19, 2026. Rockstar’s line both times was polish. A little over two months remain from this time of writing. That is why every quarterly call still makes people flinch. A former staffer earlier this year said another six months would not shock him. The public calendar has not blinked.

The map is the state of Leonida, with Vice City as the neon core. Rockstar calls it the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series. Netflix ran an Extended Look in late August, the first long gameplay-adjacent presentation after a dry year. Fresh stills followed: Jason and Lucia in a car, the pair with guns at their sides, Vice City water and skyline. Trailer 2 dropped in May 2025. Some outlets expect more Netflix blocks. Rockstar has not posted a third official episode count.

Hardware shelves felt the aftermath of the Extended Look. People bought PS5s and Series boxes because of that video. Pro prices jumped in some markets. That is demand and it will only continue to rise as we get closer to the end of the year and the games release.

No ESRB rating on the last official pre-order note, only "not yet rated." No locked runtime. However it doesn't take a genius to assume it will be rated M for mature audiences. No statement that Online launches the same hour as the story. No last-gen version. And sadly for PC gamers, there is no word on when PC will get the release. The physical product is a code box because Sony’s wider disc policy and Rockstar’s file size do not add up to a pressed dual-layer you can loan to a cousin.

Nelson’s "definitely" is the line where console gamers can sigh in relief. It is confidence from a Rockstar developer, so his word matters a bit more. Two months is enough time for a patch panic and not enough time for a comfortable third delay if Take-Two wants that bookings number.

If you already pre-ordered, November 12 is when the download starts eating the SSD. If you are on PC, November 19 is someone else’s party. If you are waiting for one more trailer, Rockstar is running out of calendar to put one in front of the preload, but you can probably expect one in a month or a few weeks from now.

Are you marking November 19 in pen, or do you still want one more delay on the board? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
