Street Fighter 6 Adds Arjun On October 13 With A Kit That Punishes Blocks

Capcom’s Arjun hits Street Fighter 6 on October 13 as Year 4’s second fighter. Recoverable damage on block, earth pillars, and a Level 3 cinematic. Yasmine is out. Tifa is next.

Arjun joins the Street Fighter 6 roster on October 13. He is Year 4’s second fighter after Yasmine, and he lands on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom posted the gameplay trailer with his release date. Year 4 Character Pass and Year 4 Ultimate Pass owners unlock him that day. Everyone else can buy him with Fighter Coins.

The short lore of Arjun is that Arjun was a police officer in India until his partner was murdered and he took the frame. He is on the run and treating every breath as the search. Outfit 1 is that fugitive look. Outfit 2 is the version who already put the hunt down. Outfit 2 unlocks by maxing his Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade or with Fighter Coins.

The kit is not Dhalsim, he is much bigger and stronger with that same Bollywood power. Capcom calls it Yoga Breathing built as a powerhouse that gives up speed for heavy strikes, projectiles, and traps. The hook is recoverable damage that still lands when a hit is blocked, then converts later. Ghastly Interrogation is a command throw that only chips that recoverable bar unless the opponent is already carrying it, then it deals normal damage. Indomitable Defense turns incoming melee into counters that feed the same resource. Moral Breakdown is the follow-up punch while that defense is on.

Arm of Justice is a winding punch with strength variants and an optional follow-up. Cruel Shoulder is the lunge, properties changing with button strength. Breathing Ring puts a ring of air on the screen. Breathing Shockwave sends it as a projectile at different angles. Divine Pillar blows the ground into a delayed earth column. Distance and timing depend on strength and hold. Justice Beyond is the combo toy: tag an active pillar with Cruel Shoulder and swing the column any direction.

Supers follow the same idea. Level 1 Howling Destruction is short bursts of the breathing technique. Level 2 Instant Oblivion launches the opponent far enough to plant a Divine Pillar. Level 3 Yaksha’s Order hits the inner ear, then the cinematic. Capcom is pitching a grappler-adjacent midrange bully, not a teleport yoga zoner.
Year 4 around him

Yasmine, the Filipino karambit fighter, shipped August 3. Arjun arrives in autumn. Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series is should arrive early 2027. Bosch, World Tour’s second lead, closes the pass in spring 2027. Capcom announced that four-pack at Summer Game Fest. No returning roster names in Year 4. Two originals, one guest, one story-mode character.

The same trailer window also dropped limited-time New Challengers artwork and effects pulled from the Street Fighter movie. That is a shop-and-lobby coat, not a new fighter.

Street Fighter 6 launched June 2, 2023 and Capcom’s current line is more than 7 million units sold. Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub are still the three modes. Year 4 Character Pass has been listed around $29.99. A single fighter is the smaller Fighter Coin buy if you only want Arjun.
