Templar Media has put a release date on Gate Zero. The Atlanta publisher used Gamescom to drop the first combat gameplay trailer and lock in a spring 2027 launch on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. IGN’s listing also includes the Epic Games Store.
The new footage follows Max, a teenager from a dystopian future, as he steps into the EON World. That realm is the game’s other dimension, a place where time and space have gone wrong and the past and future smash into each other. People, objects, and even ideas can end up frozen or held captive there. Max fights time-energy enemies called the Kairos on his way to pull a new friend out of that mess, then takes on a large boss before the trailer cuts. Check it out down below:
Gate Zero is a semi-open world action-adventure set in ancient Israel. Combat, stealth, and dialogue are all on the table, and you mix them however you want while trying to get Max home without history coming apart. The company is pitching a player-driven story that jumps between that future and first-century biblical history, with Unreal Engine 5 handling the look.
The interesting and new EON World is the main hook in this trailer alongside the combat. Templar describes it as a separate dimension where time is corrupted. Missions send you through that space to complete objectives, dodge capture, solve riddles, and keep the timeline from being rewritten. The "real" half of the map is occupied Judea and Galilee under Rome. Two cultures sit on top of each other: the Jewish homeland and the empire running it. Locations called out so far include Galilee, Capernaum, Cana, the Jordan River, and Jerusalem.
The studio says those places were built from scripture and historical research, and that players will walk through events and miracles tied to Jesus’ ministry from Max’s point of view. That is the whole framing of the game. A kid from a broken future dropped into first-century AD, trying to keep that record intact long enough to find a way back.
Templar Media is the publisher now attached to it. The company is based in Atlanta and was founded by John Gibson, a 25-year industry veteran. Earlier this development cycle, Templar acquired the project, which had been known as Bible X / Gate Zero, and moved it toward console builds. Gibson’s resume on the publisher side includes time around Killing Floor, Maneater, and Chivalry 2. Gate Zero is the biblical history game those credits are now sitting under. Gibson’s public line last winter was that the game was more than halfway done: not next week, not two years either. Spring 2027 is the window that came out of Gamescom.
The team showed the game on the Gamescom floor at booth E060 in Hall 10.1 and promised Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and NextGen Bible Media backers a shot at the Gamescom demo after the show. A 20-minute early gameplay preview with developer commentary also went up around the same week. Combat snippets the studio has teased separately include shield bashes, grapples, and reactions against Roman guards.
What the trailer actually puts on screen is Max in the EON World, Kairos enemies, and a boss fight. The rest of the feature list is still on paper: stealth and conversation next to melee, a semi-open ancient Israel, and a story that treats first-century locations as places you can walk. Spring 2027 is the first hard season attached to the platforms. PC is Steam and Epic. Consoles are PS5 and Series X|S. No Switch mention came with this drop.
If you have been following the project since the crowdfunding days, this is the first time combat and a ship window showed up together. If you are coming in cold, it is an Unreal 5 action-adventure about a future kid fighting time-energy monsters so biblical history stays put. The next thing to watch is whether that Gamescom demo reaches backers cleanly and whether more of the Israel side of the map shows up before spring.
