Spike Chunsoft announced
AI: The Somnium Files in July of last year, with a very intriguing and rather disturbing trailer that hinted at a very interesting detective thriller; expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam in 2019.
Kotaro Uchikoshi, known for directing
Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, is the man who will be directing
AI: The Somnium Files; joining forces with
No More Heroes,
Half-Minute Hero, and
Tekken 7 character designer Yusuke Kozaki.
After being announced last year, we barely got any news for this intriguing new detective thriller, but today the developer has finally released a gameplay trailer that introduces us to some of the characters that players should expect to meet in
AI: Thew Somnium Files.
The game was inititally scheduled to release on the 25th of July, but this trailer confirms that the date has been pushed back and players will be able to finally play the game on the
17th of September instead; which is a little disappointing but a delay is never a bad thing.
Check out the gameplay trailer:
The mind never lies... In a near-future Tokyo, detective Kaname Date is on the case of a mysterious serial killer. Date must investigate crime scenes as well as dreams on the hunt for clues.
AI: The Somnium Files will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam on the 17th of September.
