The upcoming indie action game with heavy hints of jazz music has been delayed from the original release date of February 7 to the new date of February 28. Devolver Digital will publish the game for the PC via Steam and the Nintendo Switch.

These extra weeks give the development team enough time to perfect their title and guarantee a better experience at a crisp 60fps for both consoles. Players will be controlling an ape that is trying to escape its cage. While navigating through this cage, players attack opponents and create jazz tones while hitting them. When you attack various times, performing a combo, a melody might be created.

However, if the player is hit, the ape will go back to square 1 and and try the escape again. The game is full of bright colors and has its own unique pace. The developers describe the game as "The ape gets super violent. Like really violent."

Ape Out is a wildly intense and colorfully stylized smash ‘em up about primal escape, rhythmic violence, and frenetic jazz.
