Respawn Entertainment isn't quite ready to fully unveil the Season 2 Battle Pass for Apex Legends; but, in a blog post today, the developer shared an overview of some of the coming improvements.
For starters, Season 2 will feature daily and weekly challenges to help you level up quicker as well as an overall reduction in the amount of time it will take to reach level 100. Respawn assured players that the challenges introduced won't be "wacky" or "drastically warp the way you playt he game," like we've seen in Fortnite, but will instead "provide some interesting variation from game-to-game." Not only will this provide more fun and interesting ways to approach a match in the battle royale game, but the boost you'll get by completing challenges should help you progress throught he Battle Pass quicker. This is especially useful if you only have a few hours a week to play.
Additionally, Season 2 will see the addition of three new Legendary skins to the rewards track. With these additions, there will now be a Legendary item available every 25 Battle Pass levels in the premium track. The level 100 reward will be an evolving weapon skin with a special recolor version for those players who make it to level 110. "Our goal is to have a nice balance of cool character exclusives and cosmetics for everyone (like weapon skins)," Respawn said.
Badges and basic stat trackers will also be removed from the premium Battle Pass rewards track. A single, evolving badge that won't take up any additional reward slots will still be rewarded for the season. Season win trackers will remain in the free path and earnable in the first 10 levels. Three new content categories are slated to replace the badgets/trackers, but these will be revealed closer to the start of Season 2.
Lastly, Voice Lines are being replaced with Crafting Metal rewards that can be used to craft a Legendary item of your choice. 1,200 Crafting Metals will be required to craft a Legendary.
More details regarding Apex Legends' Season 2 Battle Pass will be shared during EA Play on Saturday, June 8 at 10:00 a.m. PST.
