Since Quake Champions is a free-to-play title and you want to master the skills of all the champions, take into account that soon there will be a new character. This is thanks to Bethesda, preparing new content for the September update.
Athena, a familiar character for fans of the franchise, will join the action this month as the new champion. She will be available on public test servers in September.
"Utilizing her trusty Grappling Hook, Athena can traverse the Dreamlands’ intimidating spires and vantage points with ease. Not only does the Hook grant considerable verticality and movement, but also a convenient getaway for Athena whenever a fight just isn’t going her way," wrote the company.
Adding to the new content, there will be arcade modes with specific rules. This will give more variety and challenge to the games. Among the games, there is Fast Rockets, where only rocket launchers can be used and there will be quadruple damage.
In Surprise Champion you will start with a random character that will change with each death. Another game mode will go classic, each shot is deadly, but now the games will be between 2 teams of 4 players.
In addition, another game mode will use only the rocket launcher, the rail gun and the lightning cannon. The developers prepared more surprises, as the new The Longest Yard map will also be added.
Finally, it will debut a classic weapon design, which comes straight from Quake II. It is a special shotgun that will undoubtedly be nostalgic for some. The update will add support for bots and groups in all game modes.
There is still no release date for the update. Quake Champions is available for PC
