NBA LIVE Takes Aim At NBA 2K18 With A Full WNBA Roster
For the first time in video game history, an NBA video game will feature a full WNBA roster. Check out the reveal trailer after the jump.
The WNBA continues to make strides forward and they've just taken a giant leap by joining the upcoming release of NBA Live 18. The WNBA's addition will mark the first time women basketball players have been featured in an NBA video game. Will this feature be enough to loosen NBA 2k18's death-grip on the basketball video game market?
Via press release Nneka Ogwumike, WNBA Player's President and LA Sparks member stated, "On behalf of the players, we believe that combining technology and entertainment is a powerful way to not only recognize and value our brand of basketball but to also increase fan connectivity and engagement."
WNBA League President Lisa Borders added, "We are delighted to collaborate and make history with EA as NBA LIVE 18 becomes the first video game to feature the WNBA’s full roster of teams and players. With EA’s expertise and ingenuity, the game will provide a terrific platform to showcase the players and the league, enabling fans to experience the WNBA in a new, exciting way."
NBA Live will be released in some time in September (EA has still not specified a date). A playable demo willl go "live" on August 11.
