We recently reported this month's Playstation 4 release date of the unique physics-based co-op game Biped from NExT Studios. Having received a review copy from the company, we're going to dive into detail about what the game entails and how exciting it is.
First of all it's important to mention that while Biped has both Co-Operative and Solo Modes, gamers will get the most out of the experience with a buddy as the cooperation is a big part of what makes the title unique. The physics-based gameplay is much more challenging when attempting to synchronize movements in tune with friends in what makes for a fun and fulfilling shared gaming experience that all ages can enjoy.
In Biped, players have the opportunity to control two leading robots - Aku and Sila - as they journey side by side on an adventure to activate beacons which requires intelligence, co-operation, and most of all patience. Each level has its own unique set of challenges which it is built around, such as colored platforms or see-saws which require precise movement and pair participation to complete. Finishing a level allows you to activate a beacon and unlock both a new stage as well as a pro challenge for the corresponding level.
The game is loads of fun and even in the training portion of the game the content doesn't bog you down but instead prepares you for the upcoming challenges while simultaneously providing a straightforward presentation of what to expect of the rest of the title. Without too much text or hold-up, the fun begins right away. While the challenges vary from the solo to co-op modes, they both provide a satisfying gaming experience. Though there is a bit of a challenge at first, it is easily overcome with more practice as you go along and face more difficult stages.
Biped is a title that offers features that have already garnered critical acclaim and it can easily be seen why that is the case. Offering an exhilirating experience for a range of gamers and those of all ages, this challenging and adorable co-operative title is a recommendation for just about anyone that's used to holding a controller. - Five out of five.
