Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for just over a month's time. The latest instalment in the long-running first-person shooter series consists of both a narrative Campaign mode, a co-operative Special Operations mode, a competitive Multiplayer mode.
On the topic of the latter, Infinity Ward is set to introduce
"the biggest free content drop in Call of Duty history," with
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's first season of post-launch content. Upwards of seven new maps will be introduced, some that will be familiar to veteran players, as well as a plethora of new weapons, mulitplayer modes, and Special Operations missions —

Prior to the new content's release, Infinity Ward (via
Activision) has kicked off a long stretch of Double XP and Double Weapon XP. That is to say that, from now until 10AM PT on December 2nd (the day before Season 1 begins), you can now earn twice the amount of XP than you usually would — and make your way through the ranks twice as quickly.
On October 25th, when the world is threatened, you’ll have to get your hands dirty so the world stays clean. In a desperate mission, Captain Price and the SAS will partner alongside the CIA and the Urzikstani Liberation Force to retrieve stolen chemical weapons. The heart-racing fight will take you from London to the Middle East and other global locations, as this joint task force battles to stop full-scale global war. Lines will be drawn, your resolve will be tested, and the world will look to you to do what needs to be done.
