CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE Is The Best Reviewed Entry In The Game Series Since 2011

In recent years, the Call of Duty series hasn't been reviewed or regarded too fondly by players. You'd be forgiven if you couldn't evel recall the last couple of instalments — Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and Call of Duty: WWII are just a couple of the names that you've probably forgotten.

However, now is the time of year wherein we introduce a new entry to the canon. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game is a reboot of the popular subseries of the same name which began in 2007 and concluded in 2011. Speaking of that year, as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is now available so too are its reviews.

Metacritic has taken into account about twenty reviews thus far and we're happy to report that the newest Call of Duty intstalment is the best received one since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (which debuted all the way back in 2011). It seems that realistic and gritty is really what the Call of Duty playerbase wanted all along — rather than colourful action, double-jumping, and wall-running.
