While
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been out since October 25th, the first season of post-launch content only kicked off yesterday. Season 1 is regarded as
"the biggest free content drop in Call of Duty history," with its introduction of multiple new maps, weapons, cosmetic skins, multiplayer gamemodes, and Special Operations.
The latest update to
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare also introduced the first-person shooter's first Battle Pass. Popularised by
Fortnite, a Battle Pass consists of tiers of rewards which players can progress through simply by playing the game. There's often a standard, free Battle Pass as well as a premium version — and this holds true with
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Recently, Infinity Ward and Activision released a new trailer (via
Call of Duty) which is solely dedicated to the Battle Pass. This informational video explains how the Battle Pass works and shows off the content that's up for grabs. Similarly, the most recent update introduced an in-game item store and currency —
