The official Infinity Ward Twitter account has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have the night maps removed from multiplayer rotation as well as remove the minimap from its hardcore modes. These two features were some of the most discussed topics among players that had early access to the game as well as beta play time.
The night maps are returning to the game after their prominent presence in Call of Duty 4. Several players shared negative feedback on these maps saying that they were not having fun and Infinity Ward should do something about it. The developer listened to the feedback and will keep the maps in the game but in a different playlist. The night maps will have their own playlist in the future.
As for the hardcore mode, the minimap was something that many players thought it was not part of the mode's core gameplay. Hardcore mode has players compete against each other with no help from a UI. This includes anything that could help locating enemies or making the game easier. Let us know if you think this was a good decision from the developer.
