Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 kicked off earlier this week — find out more on that here. The third season of post-launch content introduced a plethora of new maps, modes, weapons, Operator skins, a new Battle Pass, and more. However, with the addition of a Quads mode to the battle royale (allowing teams of four players), Trios was removed.
Players had been begging for a Quads mode since the battle royale debuted. When they got it at the expense of Trios, they began requesting that Trios return. Thankfully, Infinity Ward has announced (via @InfinityWard) that Trios is now live again in Call of Duty: Warzone. However, it seems that this just applies to the battle royale mode and not also Plunder.
Of course, now that the request has been appeased, players are now begging for a Duos mode. Well, it seems that Activision and/or Infinity Ward may have inadvertently revealed that Duos is indeed in the works and on the way.
Over on the official Call of Duty website, a section titled "NEW MODES" was added which featured an image representative of Quads but also one for Duos. Of course, Duos hasn't yet been a thing in Call of Duty: Warzone. This banner was since removed and neither Activision nor Infinity Ward have commented on it.
Nonetheless, it seems like confirmation enough that Duos will see the light of day within Season 3. Stay posted.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone are both out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
