Check Out the Trailer for ARMA 3's Newest DLC "CONTACT"

The Arma series has always prided itself on being one of the few good realistic military shooters currently out. But now, they're throwing a interesting element into the game with their new DLC. Check it out.

As mentioned, Arma has always been a very gritty and realistic military FPS/3rd person shooting game. It has no bullet sponge elements in which you have to shoot an enemy AI/player 60 times for them to die, and you aren't a quasi-super soldier given a gun and a mission. Instead, one bullet can cut your game play short, you can break limbs, injure yourself, die of dehydration, and many other true things that can happen to soldiers in real combat. But their latest DLC is introducing a element that not many people probably would've expected when the game first came out.

In Arma 3: Contact, you're mission is going to get a tad bit more interesting, as you're sent with the task of investigating the appearance of an artifact under the fictional European city the game takes place in. While you'll have your standard combat of fighting human militia and other enemy groups that have already existed in the game, it's said that there will also be an element of non-combat, which will involve you having to decipher Alien texts and try to understand what these extraterrestrial beings truly want with earth.

Check the trailer out below.

Joris-Jan van ‘t Land, the project lead for the Contact DLC had this to say in regards to developing the idea and making it a reality for players, with the help of his team:

"Looking back at Contact's concept phase, I'm very proud of how we managed to convert the many ideas into the original experience we're releasing today. It tackles the 'first contact' premise in a way not yet seen in other games, while also showcasing the diversity of the Arma 3 platform.

Beyond the campaign experience, we're also glad to be expanding the traditional Arma 3 sandbox with loads of cool content. I'm confident our community will be able to put this expansion to good use, and we hope everyone will have a lot of fun playing. The truth is out there!
"

Arma 3: Contact is currently available on the Steam store.
