During Sega's FES2018, this past weekend, the company announced that they were working on a Mega Drive Mini but that it hadn't been officially confirmed outside of Japan. During the same event, they also confirmed that a new Sega Ages was coming out but, much like the Mega Drive, it was only confirmed for Japan.

Well, while we still haven't heard any news regarding the localisation of the Mega Drive Mini, Sega did officially confirm that Sega Ages will be coming out for the Nintendo Switch as they posted the announcement on social media.

The Sega Ages collections are compilations and re-releases of Sega's classic games that have been released over the years. The thing about them is that they were not localised outside of Japan except for the PlayStation 2's Sega Classics Collection, which included 28 emulated classic Sega titles.

Among the games confirmed to come out for the Nintendo Switch version of Sega Ages we have Alex Kidd(who was Sega's mascot way before Sonic even existed) and Thunder Force IV. If we go by the announcement for the Japanese version of the game, we could safely assume that they'll also include Sonic the Hedgehog(1991) and Phantasy Star. Although this collection will probably include a lot more games, we still have to keep waiting for any upcoming announcements.
