Conan: Exiles is officially the biggest and best selling game in Funcom's 25-year history, outperforming its previous best-seller Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, an MMO that originally released back in 2008. Exiles, which was released in May, sold 1,4 million copies in just two months, beating the similar result of Hyborian Adventures, but that MMO needed three full years to break that sales mark.
Funcom took the opportunity to announce a second batch of DLC, due in early August, including a major Jewel of the West expansion, as well as a new partnership that will enable the publisher to bring the PS4 version to Japan. It's telling that Funcom was facing some major problems and a perspective on bankruptcy just a few months ago, after the underwhelming sales of LEGO Minifigures Online.
The report has also confirmed that Petroglyph Games is currently working on an RTS set in the brutal Conan universe. The latest game of the Grey Goo, Star Wars: Empire at War and Panzer General: Allied Assault creators is fully funded and will be published by Funcom. The game will launch on PC during the first half of 2019, as more information will be made available closer to its planned launch.
Journey through a vast, seamless world filled with the ruins of ancient civilizations and uncover its dark history and buried secrets as you seek to conquer and dominate the exiled lands yourself. Start with nothing but your bare hands and forge the legacy of your clan, from simple tools and weapons to gigantic fortresses and entire cities. Enslave the bandits of the exiled lands to do your bidding by breaking them on the grueling Wheel of Pain.
