CONTROL: Sam Lake And Remedy Explain The Metroidvania Story In The First Developer Diary

Quantum Break was Remedy's last title, and similarly to that Xbox exclusive, Control is a third-person action game in which the player is privy to reality-bending, supernatural powers. Control surely looks pretty fascinating, and last year's job listing suggests that Project 7 / Control will keep the Finnish studio’s well-known cinematic focus while incorporating some PUBG and Destiny-like online elements.

According to Creative Director and the face of every single Remedy's game Sam Lake (quite literally), "Metroidvania is a good description in some ways. You are unlocking the world as you go and discovering new places.” Control will take place only in one, huge and ever-changing location, The Federal Bureau of Control's headquarters, The Oldest House and there will surely be room to explore.

Control's protagonist is named Jesse Faden. She's the director of a secret agency in New York that has been attacked by even more mysterious threat. Remedy has released the very first developer diary focuses on Control. The series' main goal will introduce and tease different aspects of the game, and the first episode introduces the story of the upcoming action game. Be sure to check it out below:

After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, you become the new Director struggling to regain Control. This supernatural third-person action-adventure game will challenge you to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments, while fighting through a deep and unpredictable world.

Control is coming to PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in 2019.
