Quantic Dream's Detroit: Become Human has had a pretty phenomenal run, since it was first released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive title in May of 2018. The developer eventually announced that their critically acclaimed title would be releasing on PC for Windows 10 and also via the Epic Games Store.

In May of this year, the developer finally announced that Detroit: Become Human, alongside Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls, would be releasing on Steam in June — giving players the chance to try out three of their most positively received titles that were originally PlayStation exclusives.

Today Quantic Dream has announced that Detroit: Become Human has already managed to sell over an impressive 5 million copies, both digital and physical, since its original launch in May of 2018. Interestingly enough, sales were favourably pushed by the release of the game on Steam in June.

"Launching Detroit: Become Human on Steam has been a delightful experience for us. The response we're seeing has been incredibly positive, in particular in Asian markets.

"We are also thrilled by the response garnered by the concomitant release of our Community Play extension for streamers and viewers on Twitch, which elevated a fundamentally single-player game into a social experience," revealed Quantic Dream Co-CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière.

Quantic Dream had already revealed that Detroit: Become Human had become their most successful launch ever, a week after it released, and is great to see the game still going strong two years later; the developers definitely deserve all of the praise they have been getting, for delivering such a phenomenal game.

Enter the near-future metropolis of Detroit in 2038 – a city rejuvenated by the introduction of highly advanced androids that exist only to serve mankind. But that’s all about to change… Step into the shoes of three distinct android characters as this brave new world teeters on the brink of chaos. Your decisions dramatically alter how the game’s intense, branching narrative plays out. With thousands of choices and dozens of endings, how will you affect the future of Detroit?

Detroit: Become Human is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and PC(Windows 10, Epic, Steam).
