Released last week, Nomada Studio and Devolver Digital's beautiful platformer
Gris is already giving reviewers and players a lot to talk about, mainly because of how great of a game it turned out to be.
Gris follows the story of a young girl named Gris, who is a hopeful girl that finds herself going on a journey that sees her navigating her own faded reality—as she goes throug some troubling past experiences of her life.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect about the game, besides the critically praised story, is it's striking art style that features some beautifully hand-drawn watercolour graphics; giving the game a uniquely charming look and feel that fits the premise of
Gris to a T.
A few days ago,
Gris publisher Devolver Digital shared some of the fantastic reviews the game has been getting since its launch on the 13th of December; calling the game a masterpiece, as well as an inspiring work of beauty.
As if that wasn't enough, Nomada Studio also revealed that
Gris has already made a profit only one week after the game was released, thanking fans for their support and thrilled about the incredible reception the game has had.
Gris is a hopeful young girl lost in her own world, dealing with a painful experience in her life. Her journey through sorrow is manifested in her dress, which grants new abilities to better navigate her faded reality.
Gris is currently available for the Nintendo Switch and Steam.
