Discord made a huge move recently when the company announced plans to end its free games program via a blog post. The chat service has a Nitro subscription service with a ton of free games, but the company is pulling the game because a vast number of users to do not play the titles on offer.
We can't be sure why users refuse to play the titles en-masse, but that is not important right now. For those who do, they will miss out on something that benefited them a great deal. It is not yet certain of Discord will launch a similar or better service in the future, but for now, Nitro free game subscription is dead.
"We learned a lot from all of you over the last year," the company said. "Through your valuable feedback, it became clear that while we and some of you love these games, the truth is the vast majority of Nitro subscribers didn't play them. So, after careful consideration, we won't be hitting Continue when these contracts come up for renewal. The Nitro Games catalog will be removed on October 15th, 2019."
Bear in mind that the Nitro subscription service will continue, the only changes being made here is the pulling of the free games, and that’s it.
