State of Mind is a science fiction thriller developed and published by Daedalic Entertainment GmbH coming for the PlayStation 4 and Steam on the 15th of August.

The game takes place in Berlin in the year 2048, where humanity is lacking resources, crime is on the rise, war seems imminent, and illnesses are caused by poulluted air and water. In State of Mind's world, drones and humanoid robots are replacing humans in various sectors, where surveillance is now omnipresent, thus creating a big problem that society refuses to acknowledge.

This is where the main character of the game, a journalist named Richard Nolan, comes into place as he is one of the few that criticises the turn society is taking—only to find himself, along with his family, in the center of this dystopian reality and digital utopia.

State of Mind raises more questions than it answers, but for all the good reasons. It makes players think about the possibility of a society in which a perfect digital utopia could exist, but also makes them question whether this would be a good idea or not for the faith of mankind. As proposed by the game, the story in State of Mind tackles transhumanism and the idea of artificial intelligence surpassing our own, making for a very interesting thriller that could well end up becoming a reality in the future.
