The first trailer for
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy and the recently released screenshots suggest that the remaster will challenge 2016's
Ratchet & Clank and last year's
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for the title of the best-looking platformer of this generation of consoles. Activision is slowly gearing up to show off
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy at E3 2018, and it just revealed the key artwork for the game.
As you can clearly see down below, the friendly dragon Spyro looks almost unrecognizable due to his major graphical overhaul. As a reminder, the upcoming collection of three remastered games will feature the first games with the purple hero in the main role:
Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and
Spyro: Year of the Dragon released between 1998 and 2000 during the first PlayStation era.
The brand new cover artwork adopts a very similar style to the box art fo
r Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
The Reignited Trilogy repeats many cues present in the
N. Sane Trilogy box art by placing Spyro front and center, while environments and characters from the three titles form the background, cleverly separated by the dragon himself, the color scheme is nearly identical too. Check it out:
Spyro has been unleashed! He’s all scaled up and ready to flare up some bad guys in Spyro Reignited Trilogy, a dynamic gaming collection that’s going to have fans “Spyro-ing” out of control on Sept. 21. Spyro Reignited Trilogy introduces players to a fully remastered game collection of the three original Spyro™ games that started the phenomenon: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
