Since the late 90s, the Guilty Gear franchise has been allowing players to participate in devastating and vibrant 2D battles. The game series has managed to create iconic characters in the genre while also adapting to the changing landscape of fighting games. 

For three years, fans have been clocking in hours on their most recent release, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2. While that game has held up remarkably well and has been able to hold the attention of fans in a world that consists of Dragon Ball Fighterz and King of Fighters, the desire for a new Guilty Gear addition have not stopped growing. 

According to publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer Arc System Works, the franchise is about to get a much-needed upgrade. Guilty Gear -Strive- is the latest installment in the franchise and features a ton of new character additions and animations. In a recent update, two new characters were recently announced, that are sure to change the playing field.
